Mang is a pioneering Kurdish publishing house based in Karaj and Mahabad, founded in 2014. It specializes in fiction and non-fiction on literature, Kurdish Studies, and Humanities. The publisher gained early recognition for translations of modern literature to Kurdish. Also, Mang is committed to publishing educational books for kids to spread the Kurdish language. Due to the diversity of the Kurdish language, Mang has tried to publish books in other Kurdish dialects in addition to Middle Kurdish (Sorani).
Mang declared strategy is to fill a perceived gap between Persian publishing houses and university presses, to publish serious but accessible works on Kurdish culture, art and history. Mang revolutionized publishing through its inexpensive Kurdish paperbacks bringing high-quality fiction and non-fiction to the Kurdish market. Its success showed that large audiences existed for Kurdish books in Iran.
By 2022, Mang had published over 300 titles.
